After getting in another vicious argument with R at another PTA meeting, V is in no mood for grocery shopping, but it still needs to be done. At list the list is short and there's a good scooter available.
But R is there, too, and when they end up competing for the last few good ears of corn, tensions flare into a minor shouting match. When R tries to take the perfect cucumber right out of his hand, V elbows him hard and yanks it back.
R leans down and growls in his ear, "I hope you enjoy it as much as I would've enjoyed shoving it up your ass."
Still pissed, but now also turned on, V stammers that he doesn't have a babysitter.
R shakes his head.
"That's a shame."
He gives the cucumber in V's lap a possessive squeeze on his way to check out.
V does manage to wrangle enough last-minute childcare to spend the next hour-and-a-half on the mattress in the back of R's truck, receiving an intimate education about several different different types of produce.
For the next few months he blushes every time he passes a farmer's market.
