Happy Black Future Month!!!

 We saw Black Panther today, yaaaay!!!


I read Wild Seed by Octavia Butler for the State of Black Scifi book club and that was good and complex and I had lots of feelings.  

Then I read the next one in the series, Mind of My Mind, and it was unpleasant and the fate of one character really disappointing.  There are 2 more and I downloaded them all in one ebook omnibus so maybe I should keep going but IDK.

I wanted to go to Boskone because there was lots of rad Afrofuturism & Black Spec Fic stuff happening, but I wasn't able to.  But I can read books by the awesome people who were there, I guess...

I wish we (Boston Metro) had actual events just for this stuff.  Perhaps we do and I haven't tracked them down yet.

Dark Universe finally came out in paperback and I was able to order it right that day, and it should be here soon so squeeee!!! 
The exerpts I read made it seem like it will be an excellent follow up to visiting Wakanda.

Wakanda was such an Afrofuturist place, and I feel a little like I didn't get everything I could have out of it by not knowing what I should have been looking for.
