and 

"I love you enough to die for you (even though it's stupid and impractical & kind of negating the sacrifice of someone you love)... totally like a sibling... yeah..."

are definitely thoughts I, too, would express in a world where

"I'm a mom who loves my husband and also this hot goddess / personification of virtue"

and 

"I'm woman who loves my wife and daughter"

are the kind of things people express before they get killed off, never to appear outside flashbacks and dreams

keep it in the subtext, save a life? argh


(what if they put it in a book & not the show? it would be like those crappy Star Trek things all over again, with no damn excuse in this year of our dragon lords)

Bury Your Gays is such a terrible trope, and yet, there's still so many showrunners who think it's entirely appropriate.

Yeah. or they claim that's not what they're doing, or it's going to be ok because there will be queer chars in later seasons, or char IDs revealed "when it's relevant to the story."

If you don't understand that all of who we are is always relevant, equally to het chars or the less-obviously-queer relationships of bi chars, why are you telling stories?!?

And why is so hard to say, "I want this story to be about death, for reasons, but it's ok because I also told/am telling these three other stories that aren't."

That last part is so hard to do, apparently. Because I don't see them telling those stories that aren't about death or tragedy befalling the queers while the straights never have to deal with it.

I am all here for Sarai/Harrow/Lady Justice as a thing of the here and now. And for the two queens for the here and now, rather than the tragic past.

And for Harrow/Viren, of they decide that's what they want. But we want it in the now, not then.

Yes, exactly!!!
The queens are amazing characters, but it's negative so many points for the way they chose to consign them away from the main story.

It would be very slightly redeemed if they ended up doing a spinoff with more of that generation, who are all my fav chars... yet barely at all without significant rep in the younger main ppl too.

Very slightly redeemed. But it still doesn't solve the problem of now, because the kids deserve to see themselves. And it's on Netflix, so it's not like they have to appease advertisers.
